The Rainbow Butterflies began with a deep-seated frustration. For years, we watched traditional tourism reduce a diverse, culturally rich landscape into quick drive-by photography stops, completely bypassing the actual pulse of the communities.
Our alternative idea was simple: Build trips exactly the way a local plans them for a close friend. We skip cookie-cutter commercial loops. Instead, we invite travellers to sit down in real kitchens, walk into real villages, and ensure their footprint goes directly where it does genuine good.
What started as a handful of carefully mapped-out routes has evolved into a comprehensive native network operating across all eight states of the region—stretching from the peaceful tea gardens of Assam to the misty high passes of Arunachal Pradesh. Our scale has grown, but our founding principles remain intact.

We have stayed deliberately lean. Not because we cannot grow, but because the moment a travel company gets too big, the traveller becomes a booking number and the village becomes a line item. We would rather know every host by name and answer every traveller ourselves.
